How can a parent be a parent and say no when the courts view it as grounds for divorce and removal of that parent from the children's home? Is there any activity to reign in the no-fault divorce crazy courts? Or, is your answer to ignore marriage vows and go find a new wife and start a new family? I agree with all of the comments you made. Especially saying it is alright to tell your child you are busy. I have practiced this since my 4 year old daughter was an infant. I remember people saying how once you have a child you will be lucky to get a shower. I always thought that strange so I promised myself that would never happen. I would put my daughter in her swing while I showered if she were awake. Additionally my husband and I spent years observing and commenting on how we would and would not parent based on the displays out in various public venues with observed of families. We also talk often of the boundaries our parents established for us and although we might not have liked them as we were growing up we do appreciate and understand them now. I am excited to have learned about your book and daily parenting tips. I look forward to utilizing both as my husband and I navigate this great journey of parenthood.
