		<description>Betsy:

I just LOVED your blog today entitled "Put Weighty Issue On Back Burner."

It truly is ridiculous to worry about being "too thin" in our obese world.

I am the author or three books, most recently "The Cardio-Free Diet" and have been in this industry for almost 21 years.

I write for various publications, including "O" The Oprah Magazine and find our obesity epidemic to be overwhelming. It's frustrating because the number of overweight and obese Americans keeps going up. You practically can't turn a book or article in because the number jumps by the time it's published.

I am a HUGE believer in counting calories, and urge you to do so in all my books. I love one bit of research from the American Dietetic Association that says, "Every time you see a book or magazine article that says you DON'T have to count calories - RUN!"

I also believe that traditional cardiovascular exercise is a complete waste of time. It just doesn't work and if it did, we wouldn't have the weight issues that we do.

That is why the title of my book is "The Cardio-Free Diet." I feel that interval strength training is the ONLY style of exercise to perform to lose weight, change your body's composition and slow the aging process.

If anyone has any interest, my appearances on "Good Morning America" and "The View" are on youtube.com when you type in Jim Karas.

Keep spreading the smart word, Betsy, and I will do the same.

Hey, I'd love to come on your show sometime as I also live in Chicago.

My phone number and address are on www.jimkaras.com.
