Just found my way over from NRO. Its good to have you on podcast now! This comment isn’t for today’s post, it is in response to some of the themes of the six podcasts I’ve listened to.

While I agree whole heartedly that women civilize men, you haven’t mentioned the equally true inverse: that men civilize women. Or at least, we used to be able to.

In the aftermath of the feminist movement, men have lost their former position of husband and father, and now lack the power to civilize women, with disastrous results.

This hasn’t been bad just for men, of course. It has been just as bad for women (as if anything that happens to one sex doesn’t affect the other, but that is another feminist myth that I won’t go into here).

Consider the effect that feminism, contraception and abortion combined have had on what used to be the benefits of getting married for a man. Now a man gains nothing by getting married. All his rights have been stripped, and the only possible legal result of getting married is that a man will be saddled with obligations.

Unfortunately, a sure recipe for the advancement of socialism is to destroy the nuclear family. Destroy fatherhood, destroy the rights of husbands, destroy the right for men to have a voice and you end up with the mess we have today, where government MUST be appointed to be head of the household, provider and protector for the family to supply the innate need women have for such things, but will no longer allow men to have the power to supply.

It speaks to the perfection of God’s plan that even with the elimination of our marital rights, even knowing that we may be forced to watch our children be butchered, that we men still want to get married.
