Hi friends – I’m told seats are filling up, so if you’d like to attend this event – and I’d love for you to come – please make your reservations as soon as you can!
Columnist/author Betsy Hart will talk about her book, It Takes a Parent: How the Culture of Pushover Parenting is Hurting Our Kids — and What to do About It,” (Putnam Books) at a lunch at the University Club of Chicago on Wednesday, May 6, at 12 p.m.
A single mom of four young kids, Hart will talk about where our culture went wrong, how parents are too often terrified their kids might not like them (and this hurts their kids!) and how much better off we could and would be if we could learn to use “no” as a complete sentence with our kids!
Betsy is the parenting columnist for the Chicago Sun-Times and hosts the weekly Sunday radio show, It Takes a Parent, on WYLL Chicago. She’s also a regular guest on the FOX News Channel’s “Hannity” show, as part of its Great American Panel.
Plated lunch at 12 p.m., remarks at 12:15 p.m. Books will be available.
Non members of the University Club, please register via the Book Stall in Winnetka, 847-446-8880.
