For all you moms and dads getting ready to send off your well brought up children to college next fall - watch out. Professor Donna Freitas writes in her new book, “Sex and the Soul,” that you may have missed the part of the campus tour which dealt with the rampant sex culture at college, including theme parties like “CEOs and Prostitutes.” She wrote about her extensive research and findings in yesterday’s WSJ, and every parent should see this!

Hi friends - here’s a really interesting piece from the NYTs this week on college kids and the campus sex culture - and some young people who are standing up to it. I thought the Times tried to make some of them look silly, but overall I thought the piece was very interesting and even a little encouraging. (We’ll be talking about it in a radio show soon)

The backstory is that while I was writing it, my laptop crashed! I couldn’t communicate at all via e-mail for a little while and so for a second, well, maybe a few minutes, boy did I want my “CrackBerry” back!

Hi friends - Here’s this week’s column. So many of my friends and even family members are going through the college “rat race.” Just watching it is enough to make a person nuts!
I’m not at all sure it has to be that way. Maybe my brother was onto something when he went through this process decades ago. Talk about a laissez-faire attitude.

Hi friends - several weeks ago I wrote a very controversial column about women in the military. I argue that women have a valuable role to play in the military, but NOT on the front lines. (In a volunteer military, we have no business sending young mothers off to fight why the guys safely tend the homefires back here.)
Anyway, there’s a very interesting piece in today’s USA Today that speaks to this issue. (Yes, guys suffer post traumatic stress disorder too, though it appears at lower rates than women do.)
